Arlington National Cemetery

We took the metro to Arlington National Cemetery today after brunch. It was the perfect day to walk and hike the hills, and the views of the city are outstanding. I really enjoy Civil War History, and we purposely went to visit General Lee's house at the highest point. The house is under renovation, and there is a long way to go to get it back in to the original shape. On the way up the hill, we passed by President Kennedy's grave site, and on the way down saw Senator Edward Kennedy's grave defined by a tiny white cross and a small stone. Nearby also lies Robert. One of the newer additions to the Cemetery is the Women in the Military monument/exhibit. We looked up my Mom in the registry, who was a Navy Wave in WW II. We've visited Arlington several times before, but it's always a good place to remember people and events of the past. What do you think Mr. Lee was thinking when he looked out from his front window back in 1861?
