HOW WIDE IS THIS HOUSE?

We're going to Alexandria this evening for a short drive, get some gas for the car, pick up a couple of items, and get a bite to eat. The gas is cheaper, and the scenery is always nice, and it's a great neighborhood.  One of the oddest items that we regularly see is this tiny little house wedged between two "normal" sized homes. My understanding is that the space used to be a sort of alleyway. The horses and such would make too much noise, so the owner decided to turn the space in to a house. It is actually furnished to the nines, and there have been articles written about it. Everything around here has tiny front doors anyway.... we had to have our sofa bed dismantled and reconstructed because the doorway to our place is so narrow, and our place was built in the 1890's- this one is much older. How did people get that huge heavy stuff in their house back in the day? All of this is a far cry from our home in the suburbs. You can't help but to get to know your neighbors here.

The width of the house may be 6 feet, so what does that make the door?
