Free Parking

The construction across the street has been completed now for about two months. But alongside the building is a stretch of prime real estate for side street parking for about 10 vehicles. But there is no signage for neighborhood permit parking only, or meters installed for pay parking. There is also a parking structure that charges, I am sure, a significant amount for all day parking. I have an ongoing discussion with one of the workers at the parking structure, who is complaining that they are losing business because of the "free parking" just up the street. Not only is the city losing revenue for paid parking, but the neighbors are quite annoyed that they can't do a thing about the "cheaters" who have found their way to the free spaces. I have sent two letters to the Department of Transportation about the situation, and of course, have not received an answer. Let's see how long it takes to get something done. One of my co-workers, who is constantly moving his car every two hours around the block during work hours, told me he saw someone measuring for the equipment. The parking meter ticket attendants who patrol the streets and hand out parking tickets aren't even paying any attention- even when the cars are parked right in front of the fire hydrant and in the crosswalk. This is one of the most rule bending places I have ever lived in. I suppose for some people, they like it that way.
After 5PM, and most of the spots are still taken

The new building is nice, but the free parking isn't

Please bring the signs in ASAP!
