No Hot Water

It's usually a great thing to live on Capitol Hill. Being an historic district, the buildings and homes are quite old. Our converted condo was built in the late 1800's. It is all charming, and even though it has been renovated, some things cannot be avoided as long as one shares infrastructure in a building occupied by 39 others. We did not have a lot to say about the HVAC systems or hot water heaters because they are not unit based. So when the hot water heater quits working, we're all dependent on the property management company to respond as quickly as possible, and luckily they generally do. I'm just glad I am off today and did not find about it this morning with a cold shower. That is also why we have an extra space heater in the event that the heat stops (which it has), and a few fans if the air conditioner goes out (which it has). Occasionally we had these types of issues in Milwaukee living in a single family home. But somehow we felt we had a little more control over it all. At least our son lives just down the street, and the Capitol Hill Suites is around the corner if things got really out of hand. In the end, if and when we do ever move again, we will be sure to have a contained HVAC system- and insulated walls and floors!

A repair truck in the driveway is never a good sign

Just in case

Feels like the good old days? I dont' think so
