Tatiana Borzoi

We got Tatiana in 1996 from her breeder in Indiana. She was about 6 months old and completely trained. We had a Golden Retriever before her, and spent a lot of time searching for the perfect pet. We wanted a big dog, with fur, that did not bark a lot, and a female. We visited several dog shows to see all the different breeds and talked to the breeders. These creatures were so elegant and never made a sound. This is where we met Tatiana's father. He was easily over 100 pounds. Today is Tatiana's birthday, and she would have been 16 years old. She lived to a ripe old age, and is missed by many. She was the inspiration for The New Yorker 2012 Eustace Tilley Contest. I was a winner in the contest that was announced last week. Now Tatiana is immortalized on the winning slide show on the New Yorker website. And her image looks even better on the downloaded edition on the IPad. Happy Birthday Tatiana! What a nice way to remember and celebrate.
