Waiting in Line

This is the time of year when everywhere is very crowded in the Capitol City because of Spring Break and related holidays. The lines are long anywhere you go on the Mall. That's why, when we can help it,  we visit the Smithsonians and all other points of interest when it is on the quieter side. But my husband prefers the crowds and people watching to any particular place or thing. When we drove along the Mall, it became very obvious that you should pick one or two things you really want to see- or better come back at a quieter time of the year. Or if you really want to see everything at least once, moving to the neighborhood is probably the best way to go. Living in Milwaukee limited outdoor activity for us, since neither one of us cares for snow and cold. So this is really ideal, and we sight see at our own pace. The best part is that we can just walk over and we're there.
The line winds around the block at the Archives

The buses crowd the side street along the Mall in front of
the Air and Space Museum

Although not open for business, the Supreme Court always has customers

The Capitol Visitor's Center is underground- and very crowded

The line winds down the staircase at the Library of Congress

Crowds were on the front and back side of American History

Here's a log jam at the American Indian Museum

A group enjoying the reflecting pool in front of the Capitol,
the Botanic Garden in the rear

Glad to see everyone enjoying their visit
