It's getting to be spring although you wouldn't know it because the winter coats have not yet been put away. It must also be the season to discard mattresses. Typically they are left on the sidewalks all over Capitol Hill. And it takes weeks to see them finally removed. Who would think to call for trash pick up, or more surprisingly, actually bring the item to the dump yourself. This week some slob emptied their garbage in our condo and left a trail of whatever was leaking all over the first floor carpet. Would they even think to clean up after themselves? Are you kidding? I'm certain they had much more important things to do! But I digress. This particular mattress has been sitting along the freeway and has the enhanced backdrop of the Jefferson Memorial behind it. It looks a lot better in person. How charming! Let's see how long it takes to get rid of it. I have a hunch it may be awhile. As for the slobs in our building...
