Observations, pictures, and sketches highlight the transition of moving to the nations's Capitol after 30 years of living in the Midwest. A clash in cultures? Maybe not!

Water birds, Oranges, Birthdays and High School Classmates
Our last day in Florida took us to the pond in the neighborhood where the birds eagerly meander towards the car expecting a handout. We used to bring bamboo poles and bread balls to catch fish here when we were little kids. Our backyard has an orange tree that has been quite fruitful this year. My husband whacked one off an overhead branch with a stick. He peeled it without any difficulty. It was a little sour but tasty. I went to lunch to meet up with seven high school classmates. A few of us reached the sixty year milestone this month. I don't remember some of them that well, but they are delightful folks and we have a common bond. It was a nice weekend visit and it ends tomorrow. Back to freezing temperatures and work. Yuck!
