Richard Harris, Richard Burton, Richard Widmark

We watch a lot of movies. In fact, since I was small we went to movies regularly including the outdoor movies. And the house was always filled with music from the soundtracks. In Wisconsin, we went to the Oriental Theater just about every weekend. Since we moved to DC, we have not been to a single movie theater, but we do record a bunch of them and put them in the queue for future viewing. Over the last month, we have been reliving a lot of old time favorites, with some of the better known actors - and they are all named Richard. It started out with Richard Harris in Major Dundee and The Molly Maguires. But what I really liked about Richard Harris was his take on MacArthur's Park. I still listen to it regularly on my iPhone. What about that cake out in the rain? We hadn't seen The Last Wagon with Richard Widmark and it was a great tale. Then last night we watched Richard Burton in My Cousin Rachel. It was simply excellent even though it was in black and white. The acting is superb. We get on these kicks every so often, and I'm really glad we both agree all of these films are really worth seeing. What an influence these stories have on all of us, and it's so wonderful to be able to watch them whenever you feel like it.
