Splash Car Wash

Since we no longer have a garage, street parking creates a lot of different issues - especially if you park under a tree. As much as I like our furry and fine feathered friends, they do the job on the parked cars beneath them. Luckily, we have a great car wash right in the neighborhood. Splash is located next to McDonald's on I Street and South Capitol. When you enter the driveway, it feels like you will be under the overpass, but then you make a u turn and then the fun begins. We usually just get the $18.00 basic wash - it includes getting the interior cleaned too. The rules of the car wash are quite whimsical and quirky if you pay attention. As you head towards the lobby, you can observe your car coming down the tunnel, only to be driven off to the landing place where several workers dry it by hand. In Milwaukee we had a drive through car wash that was fun to pass under and watch the water works from inside the car.  But here on Capitol Hill this is a good place and is highly recommended. The car sure looked stunning when we got it back home and parked it alongside the curb. Unfortunately it didn't last very long..by the next day the birds and the squirrels seemed to like it too.
