Subaru Forester, Bald Eagles and Scenic Views

It always happens that way. Whenever you are looking for something specific it doesn't appear. Every time we go out and about we notice a lot of Subaru Foresters. We happen to have one that is ten years old - we brought it here from Milwaukee. It's suited quite well for street parking and general versatility. We only notice how old it is when we get in to someone else's new car! Because I was on the hunt for them today, they were nowhere in sight. Just a few here and there. I was hoping to catch one on front of key landmarks around town. So in between the Forester tracking session that wasn't going so well, we came across more interesting views when my husband missed our turn off on to Memorial Bridge because I was otherwise occupied. You can see the Jefferson and Martin Luther King Memorials across the Tidal Basin with Arlington in the background; a view of the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument almost aligned on our way to the Spout Run exit; the arching Spout Run bridge; and most unexpectedly and happily a bald eagle! When we first moved here we would routinely see bald eagles flying around the GW Parkway. This is the first one we've seen in a couple of years. When we arrived back to our neighborhood the Foresters started popping up again, but certainly not in the anticipated numbers. All I know is we are happy with ours, and a lot of people usually can be seen driving around in theirs - except for today.
