The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show - Borzoi Will Always Be "Best in Show" For Me

Every year we make it a point to watch the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. The only group we are interested in seeing is the hound group - specifically the Borzoi. For those folks who love dogs, they all have a favorite and this breed is ours. We had a beautiful white with black markings female and her name was Tatiana. She was everything you could possibly want in a dog. I love big and furry dogs, and she definitely was that.  She rarely made a sound, and would tuck her head under your arm when she wanted attention. Now that we live in a tiny place in DC it would be difficult to have another one, but not impossible. In Milwaukee, she had a huge run with a dog house, and loved to show her speed only once in awhile. Her fur was like silk, and she was a wonderful companion. That's probably why I love to paint these dogs the most. She was also the influence behind my New Yorker Eustace Tilley contest win a couple years ago. The pooch's name last night in the hound group's competition was also Tatiana. For whatever reason, our dog never wins the group title at Westminster. But the Borzoi will always be best in show for us.
