Observations, pictures, and sketches highlight the transition of moving to the nations's Capitol after 30 years of living in the Midwest. A clash in cultures? Maybe not!

Bye Bye Cherry Blossoms
One of these days I'll need to pick out the best photos taken over the last several days. It was a stunning cherry blossom season. We visited a lot of places around DC - the arboretum, the tidal basin, the neighborhood, east Potomac Park - at all times if the day and evening. It is probably the busiest two weeks in town for traffic and tourists. This week the rain, wind, and short life expectancy is taking a toll on the beautiful fairyland. It was so nice while it lasted and difficult to see you go! The tulips and other blooms are replacing you, but they can't quite match this once a year phenomenon. So until next time ...
