Madeleine Albright and Colin Powell

There hasn't been a program at the Library for a while - until last evening - that we were interested in attending. It was held in the Coolidge Auditorium in the Jefferson Building at 6:30. We underestimated the interest in it and the line to get in at 6:00 was already extending outside of the building. A spokesperson came out - in the pouring rain - to say the room was already full. So ended our desire to stick around and miss the foreign affairs discussion with Madeleine Albright and Colin Powell, moderated by Ann Compton. So we walked home a watched a bit of the live streaming on the iPad. It's not so much the discussion, but an opportunity to attend a free presentation just a couple blocks away from where we live. We've seen several since we moved here nine years ago. But with so many reserved seats, there wasn't much space left over for the general public - even though I work at the Library. I usually plan better and am disappointed that we weren't able to get it. There will always be a next time.
