CVS and McLean Pharmacy Flu Shots and Candy

I get my flu shots at work. I just walk down to Madison Hall in the Library of Congress, fill in the paper work, and it takes five minutes. My husband hates going to our doctor's clinic in the neighborhood because it is such an unpleasant place. So three years ago we went to a CVS, and the last two years we ended up at the Giant grocery store because the CVS clinic next door to it was closed. Today after lunch in Fairfax, we stopped at a CVS on the way home. We walked in and the clinic was closed. Then we went to the CVS in McLean that we usually go to. After entering all the information in to the system and waiting fifteen minutes, the staff person said we would have to wait an hour because she was going to lunch. It was 1:30, so we left. However, on the way out my husband found his favorite candy on special so we picked up four boxes of NIPS and two packages of Werthers caramel filled treats - so all was not lost! He was about to give up getting the flu shot, but I wanted to get this over with. On the way back home, we saw a sign for flu shots at McLean Pharmacy that said "flu shots - no wait." So we tried that place. They asked for our insurance card and said sometimes it may not be covered. Luckily it was, so we finally got the thing done! There was something about driving around town today... It was really congested, and it is very rainy with the threat of a hurricane approaching. My work days have shifted to Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday rather than Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Mondays never seemed this messy. I guess we just need to get used to it.
