Million Man March or Justice Or Else

Regardless of the program, we always take advantage of whatever is going on in the neighborhood. So rather than go to brunch before noon in McLean, we decided to walk early and then go to brunch afterwards. And it was more interesting than is typical. We weren't living in DC twenty years ago to see the first Million Man March. But now we live right in the middle of it the second time around. What I think about are the thousands of people who travel for miles to get here, and all we have to do is wander down the street for two blocks. And the oddest thing is that once we are back in our neighborhood, it doesn't even sound or feel like anything is going on - just an occasional helicopter can be heard overhead. It was a beautiful day for any large event, and the Taste of DC was happening just on the other side on Pennsylvania Avenue. Hopefully everyone will have a memorable day. We always do. My husband said it again - how can we even think of leaving here?
