Blomus Bioethanol Freestanding Fireplace

We had two fireplaces in Milwaukee. The living room was a wood burning apparatus original to the house that we converted to gas, and the other was installed new as a gas fireplace in the constructed tv room made out of a tandem garage space. We used the tv room fireplace all the time, and we used the living room fireplace when the electricity went out to boil water! Luckily, that didn't happen very often. Anyway, we miss having a fireplace. But our condo has neither wood burning nor gas fireplaces. About ten years ago I explored options and came upon the Bioethanol freestanding fireplaces made by Blomus. We had the opportunity this weekend to take a test drive with one to see if we liked it or not. We have the perfect corner space for it, i's cute enough, and is the exact item we would have purchased all those years ago. But now I am sitting on the fence. It's not the kind of thing you easily switch on and off, it does provide minimum additional hear, and it provides that good old fireplace ambiance. But is it worth it? I just can't make up my mind. What do you think?
