Pass A Grille Beach in Florida

Every time we visit Florida we drive by the old haunts. It's hard to believe that we were there last week at this time. Unfortunately it was not for a vacation, but for a medical emergency. In spite of all the hubbub, we made time for a ride to Pass A Grille Beach. I spent a lot of time there growing up. When we first moved to Florida I was in second grade. We drove to the beach every Sunday it seemed. And we always took rides to the beach on weekends and holidays. After hurricanes it can be particularly interesting to see what washes up to shore. This time my husband drove to the parking spot and I jumped out of the car and walked down to the warm white sand and seashore. It wasn't terribly busy, and it was a beautiful sunny day. The fishermen were on the little pier, the seagulls were hanging around, and a few boats went by. Then we drove over to the other side where the pelicans can always be found waiting for free handouts along with a few other water fowl. There was a lot of road construction going and getting back. We always knew we would never live on the water. But it is a delightful place to visit.
