Check, Please! and Mark's Kitchen in Takoma Park

We have been watching a new show called Check, Please! that showcases neighborhood restaurant favorites of the "average Joe." Whenever we see something that looks interesting I jot down the name and town. So today for lunch we decided to try Mark's Kitchen in Takoma Park. It specializes in Korean food, but also has an American menu, and serves breakfast all day, so there is something for everyone. Our son and his family used to live in Takoma Park when they were first married, so it was a beautiful day for a drive and a stop by the old homestead after lunch. The place is like a diner, and has been there for many years. It was quite busy with both sit down and take out customers. We ended up with vegetable soup, a southwestern omelet,  and shrimp tempura. We also ordered the daily special - penne pasta, egg rolls, and kimchi trio to take home for dinner. We like to make the trip worth the effort! We aren't in to tofu and things along those lines, but found the place quaint and the service good. After the meal we did drive by the house we spent one Christmas Day in all those years ago. It was a lovely afternoon in November. What a great way to spend it.
