American Plant Flowers and Instructions

Whenever we go to buy flowers for the patio garden, we pretty much look at colors and shapes. I don’t think we ever look at the recommendations for sun or shade exposure, watering instruction, the height, or the distance required between plants. In the Midwest I had many window boxes and pots and gardens to fill. We used to make several trips to the garden shop and were generally happy with the outcome. There are certain flowers my husband really dislikes - geraniums and marigolds. I think because they are too “common place.” He likes things that are a little less routine looking. So as we walked about the greenhouse the other day it boiled down to pretty much four colors - white, yellow, pinks/purples, and reds. There were several different plant companies - from Pennsylvania to Maryland. It seemed like we got a lot of stuff, but when it was all planted it hardly made a dent even for such a tiny place. So as the bulbs dissentigrate they will need to be replaced. And we will make a few more trips to the greenhouse.
