Flowers at Dusk

Dusk is my favorite time of the day while my husband prefers the early morning. I remember strolling alone on the Florida State campus in the very late afternoon/ early evening. There was something so very peaceful and serene about it. Yesterday, as the sun was setting the glow and reflection in the house was looking more like fall. The sun is on its way back to the autumn eastern sky from the summer west rotation and shines right on the mirror in our dining room - bouncing rainbows around the house. But what struck me was how the light was shining on the cut flowers in the vase by the mirror. The petals were translucent and were the same color as the evening sky. Too bad the sun is setting so much earlier. We enjoy sitting on our balcony and playing iPad games before we settle in to watch tv in the evening. It was the perfect night for it. It’s probably the one of the few things that didn’t change from this time last year.
