Observations, pictures, and sketches highlight the transition of moving to the nations's Capitol after 30 years of living in the Midwest. A clash in cultures? Maybe not!

Architect of the Capitol Green Car
We have seen the Architect of the Capitol vehicles moving plants and such in "regular" trucks near the Botanic Gardens. On the way back to work from lunch, I saw an unusual sort of vehicle that was parked near our house. On closer inspection, it was another Architect of the Capitol mover, but a more environmentally friendly one at that. I don't think it could be used for anything but people, but an eye catching vehicle it was. I love the mini cooper and the smart car - just because they don't require a lot of space to park, and would be great in an urban environment. But for now, we'll have to stick with the Subaru as long as we anticipate having guests and don't mind it getting hit every time someone parks around it- which is a sure thing. We sure miss our garage and driveway.
