US Botanic Garden

Every year the Botanic Garden prepares for Christmas. And the evidence suggests that plans are well underway. All the varieties of evergreens are are being potted, the light strings are being hung throughout the garden, and of course, the train will be up and running in a winter wonderland backdrop. Thanksgiving isn't even here yet, but this stuff takes a lot of time to get just right. The Capitol Christmas Tree is on it's way from a destination unknown (to me), and the White House Christmas tree lighting ceremony ticket lottery was announced last week. Today is a beautiful day with sunshine and warmth. I happen to have the day off because of the Veteran's Day Holiday last week. It feels odd to be off on Monday, when everyone else is working. But I think I could get used to it - and it hardly matters what season it is.
