Wall Vase Flower Arrangements

We always tried to have fresh cut flowers somewhere in the house when we lived in the Midwest. They usually ended up on the island in the kitchen. Since we live in such a tiny space here, we have a wall vase that we like to switch up here and there. It doesn't take up any counter area, has two levels, and can be used for just about anything. We found the piece at Ginkgo gardens down the street. They have a lot of unusual pieces. This one in particular went with the room decor and matched some of the other ironworks pieces. Last week we added some tiny yellow carnations and they are lasting a long time. Just having greens is sometimes nice. Some of my patio garden flowers end up there. The hydrangeas are always lovely. I've tried orchids, but they usually fail. Perhaps they just can't tolerate the strong warm western heat of the summer streaming in in the late afternoon. At Christmas time I fill it with holiday pine twigs, ornaments, lights and such. I've got some phiadendrum leaves rooting there now. Sometimes it remains unfilled with rocks at the bottom. Even that makes a statement. All it takes is a little imagination. You simply can't go wrong.
