The Window Washer Show

A few weeks ago our condo building had its annual outside window washing service. We were told well in advance and needed to move the furniture on the balcony away from the windows, but also were reminded to draw the shades. It’s always interesting to see the ropes coming up and down, followed by the actual window washers. Then last week the building across from us also had its annual window washing. But it was even more fun to watch the show from our view. It’s really amazing how the washers scale the walls and swing back and forth without running in to each other. Then the ropes are moved from the top of the building so the next section can be covered. It’s a lot easier when there are no balconies to also clean and work around. I think the scariest and most amazing is when you see the downtown washers scurrying around the multi story buildings. It’s certainly not something that I would be able to do - especially if it’s windy outside. Frankly I’m not sure I see much if a difference when all is said and done. We probably need to do a better job cleaning the interior of the windows. Maybe that is more of the problem!
