Simple Human Compact Sensor Pump

We like Simple Human products. In our Capitol Hill condo we had three trash cans with matching liners. When we moved to northern Virginia we left the trash cans behind except for the small bathroom container. It has a step down opener so we don’t have to touch the lid. Then we purchased a make up mirror with automatic lighting. We put out soap dishes in both the kitchen and bathroom with all the hand washing going on these days. But they get pretty messy looking. Since our kitchen soap dispenser quit working we looked around for touchless brands and Simple Human popped up. They have a small dispenser that looked good. It was out of stock on amazon so I looked for it everywhere else and finally found one on the Simple Human website. It finally arrived this week. It needed four AA batteries that are supposed to last a year. It came with a small bag of soap - you can’t use exfoliating soap in this device, and of course, you can buy their soap brand. I’m sure Soft Soap and other brands would work fine. So the batteries went in and we tried it out. So far so good. We put it on the kitchen counter by the sink and the brushed nickel finish goes well with the decor. You can also adjust the amount of soap that is dispensed. I registered the product as it has a two year warranty. Perhaps the next device we get will be a touchless faucet. The Kohler faucet we have has broken twice in hardly a year. These days anything touchless is worth looking in to. Now it’s become more of a necessity. I wonder what other products and gadgets will change to keep ourselves “healthy?”

Simple Human Vanity Sensor Mirror

When we lived in Milwaukee, I had a vanity built in to the bathroom with a seat. It was a very convenient set up. Then we moved to a tiny condo on Capitol Hill and the bathroom was so small you were right in front of the mirror and couldn’t sit down if you wanted to. We eventually had the bathroom redone and had a wall mirror hung from the side which worked really well. Now we just moved to a new condo in Virginia and everything is “normal size” again. That means the bathroom wall mirror sits quite a distance from the front of the sink. We didn’t want to drill holes in the wall for another small mirror to be hung so we were on the lookout for a tall table top vanity mirror to help with both shaving, make up, and close ups. I’ve always liked simple human products and found myself investigating the options. We visited a few places to see how they actually looked. I couldn’t make up my mind but finally decided on a sensor mirror with 5x magnification. It arrived the other day and I’m not sure if I like it. It looks okay and it lights up when you move toward it. It can be charged and lasts for awhile so there are no cords showing. It does telescope up, but I’m not used to looking down or having 5x magnification. What I really wanted was a regular mirror with a flip side at 10x but now have a one side only at 5x. I guess I didn’t realize it at the time. Hopefully I’ll get used to it. 

Simple Human Garbage Can and Bags

Although it was delayed by the snowstorm Friday, the package arrived from California on Monday. Since there was no urgency to this delivery it was not a big deal. But we have been updating the condo with little things here and there, so what better place to make a change? The bathroom of course! We have two large Simple Human garbage cans and matching liner bags for trash in the kitchen. Our house in Milwaukee had a custom kitchen and our preference was to keep the trash behind closed doors in the island. But in this small space the trash sits outside of the cabinets and the container needs to at least look somewhat decent. So we got the smallest container possible and I measured the space to make sure it would fit between the toilet and the wall. There's not a lot of dead space above it for the lid to open completely, but we've learned that's how things work in such tight spaces. The old rusty one went by the wayside. This container has a ten year warranty. I can't imagine how life will be in ten years. I never used to think about it before. But when you get to a certain age or milestone, these time related reminders send a different vibe. 

  

Simple Human Custom Garbage Can Liners

One of the items I forgot to order from our last Amazon batch was garbage can liners. We bought a Simple Human garbage can for the kitchen at the Container Store quite awhile ago and had a case of liners to go with it. Well, the case was about to run out. We try to compile a list of things to ensure free delivery whenever we do order with Amazon, but it doesn't always work out based on the number of vendors. Luckily, when I checked the Simple Human website, they offered free shipping. So we got a case of the H liners to match our can and don't need to think about it again for awhile. Even though we live in a tiny space, we have enough spare room in the closet to store these kinds of essentials. But unfortunately the size of the space we live in has little to do with the amount if garbage produced. I just wish I could also hide the can.
