Avish Khebrehzadeh Seven Silent Songs

We have been going to the National Gallery of Art a lot lately. It gives us the opportunity to take a ride in to town, but is also a great spot to take photos for the 52Frames weekly challenge. There is a special exhibit from an Iranian artist Avish Khebrehzadeh called Seven Silent Sings. It’s an interesting show. You sit in a dark room and watch the animals and such walk or swim past. It’s about migration, climate change and human nature and is a beautifully created animation. The first time we went we just sat and watched. The second time I wanted to take images for the subject “dreamscape” so I asked my husband to stand in front of the very wide and long screen. I liked the manatee and the whales, the hippos… The associated music captures the subject matter. There is also a tree of life in blue painted at the entrance. The gallery is a great place to get ideas, spend the morning, and have a walk. We are lucky to live so close.
