The Boathouse and MacArthur Beverages
We haven’t been to the Palisades for quite a while. We used to frequent the area more when we first moved here. There were a couple of restaurants we liked, but they have since changed. But we were on a mission today for our daughter in law. They moved away from DC about five years ago, and sometimes she has a special request for us to pick something up. That was the case today. She ordered a special something for our son and we were playing Santa. On this very miserable foggy and rainy day we first went to the mall for a walk, then onward to the Boathouse restaurant for lunch that happens to be located in the Palisades. It was “ok” - not something we would not come back to in short order. Then we drove along MacArthur avenue towards MacArthur Beverages Wine and Spirits. Obviously there is never any parking so I dashed in and requested to pick up the secret order. So it was a good excuse to see the area again and do a favor too. Now when we drive back home it doesn’t seem to take that long because we head towards northern Virginia instead of Capitol Hill - and an underground parking space instead of street parking. In the end we are sure the gift will be a sweet surprise on Christmas Day and are very happy we had a hand in it.
