PRESS CLUB & BABYSITTING

Our daughter in law is attending the National Press Club dinner this evening. She mentioned that Andrea Mitchell will be receiving the key award. Our daughter in law has been attending these events for many years. But, this is the first time that we will be watching the grandson while she is away - because Dad is not available tonight. We know the youngster used to like American Idol as a toddler, but you all know how seven year old's tastes can change from day to day! He loves his IPad as much as I do, so we will both stay busy with our games and digital books. My husband has babysitting duties twice weekly after school, which is only 2 blocks away. The family lives 8 row houses away from us- a stone's throw (which is the main reason we chose to live where we are.) We would never have these kinds of opportunities to routinely see everyone if we still lived "up north." Our grandson stopped by on Sunday to show us his chess tournament medal, and he needed to borrow some sugar to make cookies. And of course, he and his mom stopped by that evening to share the treats. It really is a nice arrangement!
Who can resist those big hazel eyes?
