With out of town guests visiting this weekend, it was the perfect afternoon to visit Hillwood Estate in NW DC. Before we moved from Milwaukee, we saw a show about this place on HGTV's "Homes Across America". What they didn't mention was the quirky groups of ladies who also like to visit. I'm not sure what they were there for, but they were wearing primarily purple with little red hats. We kept running in to this group both inside and outside and on the way out. Perhaps they were meeting for tea at the cafe for a special occasion. Regardless, they looked to be having great fun except for the one in high heels. There's always someone on the bunch. I can imagine each of them has a story to tell. Part two and three of this outing are forthcoming. The grounds and house are really extraordinary and the Papier exhibit is exquisite. And, the company and the weather couldn't have been better.
