Observations, pictures, and sketches highlight the transition of moving to the nations's Capitol after 30 years of living in the Midwest. A clash in cultures? Maybe not!

Facebook Business Page Not Working
It’s happened before. My Facebook digitalart page just quit. I wasn’t able to upload photos about a week ago. So I just sat on it thinking it would work in a day or two - but it didn’t. On my iPad, the message said it wasn’t connected to the internet - but I’ve always used Wi-Fi and it always worked - and Wi-Fi was on. At least the page photo could still be seen. On my iPhone, the only recognizable item was the page name. So for the last three days I have been reporting the issue. You need to go to settings, report a problem, “what’s not working?”, then explain what happened with a screenshot. I’ve reported the issue every day for the last three days on both devices, but nothing has changed. I deleted and reloaded the app - nothing happened. I searched the internet to see if anyone else was experiencing the problem - couldn’t find anything. The odd thing is is that everything behind the thread is still in place - it’s the main thread that doesn’t work/remains empty. This problem has happened before and to my recollection was fixed almost immediately. It is annoying, but it may become another app that bites the dust.

Ice Cream Entry Liked Best!
I’ve had a Facebook business page for quite awhile. I use it to upload one entry a day. Sometimes it contains a handmade digital art image of something I painted - mostly custom cat and dog portraits. But more often I put a photo or video of something from the neighborhood. Yesterday there were two hawks squawking and flying around the park that we walk in every morning that I caught on video. Even though we moved to Virginia three months ago, a lot of the images are still of Washington DC because we still visit it regularly for programs at the Library of Congress and doctor appointments, among other things. Every once in a while I will put something on the site that to me seems like it wouldn’t garner a lot of attention, hits or comments. And such was the case when it came to a McDonald’s ice cream cone and smoothie. I think it’s been so hot everywhere that everyone could associate with it and it got more comments than most. So you never know what might catch someone’s eye so it pays to have a variety. I need to keep that in mind more often.
