Kleenex Folded Paper Towels from Amazon

It has been a very long time since we bought paper towels. During the pandemic we decided to get folded paper towels that sit in a container because it was just easier to deal with all of the hand washing and cleaning needs. We set an acrylic container up in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. But over time we thought it was just easier to use them instead of the rolled paper towels. To that end we purchased a container of the Kleenex towels through Amazon. We got the sixteen packs per carton which is why they have lasted so long. They have been stored on the top shelf of the kitchen cabinet. We were down to the last one so it was time to reorder. They arrived yesterday along with a couple of other items that we routinely get - aside from the replacement baseball cap that my husband needed. So we unpacked and put all of the towels again on the shelf. I don’t expect we will need to order them again for quite some time. For these sorts of items I wish we had a pantry in the kitchen or at least some storage options. I have often thought about using the den for things like this but that would mean reconfiguring the space which is probably not essential anyway. So much for an abundance of paper towels. But it’s well worth it.  

Kantek Acrylic Paper Towel Dispenser

As is with everyone else these days we are washing our hands several times a day. Rather than use the same dish rag or bathroom towel, we thought that having single paper towels would be a good idea. So I ordered a case of Kleenex single fold towels. To keep them in order, an acrylic container would be nice, so I found a Kantek dispenser. After spraying everything off with an alcohol solution on them and all the other packages and groceries we get, I soap and watered the containers. After drying out, one container was placed on the kitchen counter and the other one on the bathroom toilet tank. Even though the containers are a bit larger than needed, it does the job. Who would have guessed one would need this - or any other - stay at home cleaning element to ward off an ugly virus? For the first time since March 13 we took a ride in the neighborhood today after lunch to just get the car started and running for a bit. We wore our home made coffee filter masks and food processing gloves. It wasn’t anywhere near a joy ride. I was very happy to get back home and hibernate. 

DayQuil and NyQuil - Our Best Friends

I came home from France and England in October with and awful cold/virus thing. And as always, every year both my husband and I get flu shots. You would think that that would be enough to deter whatever illness awaits. Well, it didn't.  Since returning home from Florida over a week ago getting things in order for my elderly parents - no - it was not a vacation - my husband started getting sick. And since then it has been downhill. We cancelled our meager Christmas plans, and have stayed home ever since. He only made a run to the pharmacy to pick up more bottles of NyQuil and DayQuil. Luckily we had plenty of aspirin on hand, tea, and whatever liquid felt right. This is the first stretch of time we have gone without our daily glass of wine, and have stayed out of a restaurant. Looking at my Facebook pages made it all the More miserable. This indeed was the worst Christmas I can remember - let's make that the whole month of December. The only thing good about it is that I have had time to catch up on all my pet portrait back orders in between snoozes and coughing spells. We are supposed to have my family over on New Year's Day, but at this point I'm just not feeling like entertaining anyone. It seems every time I travel I catch something awful. I'm not sure it's worth it.
