Giant Grocery Digital Coupon Savings

During the height of the pandemic we used to order groceries on line and have them delivered to the door. So we used the Giant app to order and schedule the pick up, but also used bonus points that accumulated over time. Now we get emails with coupon savings shown. But I never paid much attention to it thinking that they could only be used for on line ordering. I was wrong. So I investigated how to “clip the coupons” and have the savings placed on our Giant card. All it is is just click on “clip the coupon” and it automatically gets connected to our card and the savings are auto calculated. Since I hadn’t used the option for quite a while, we had a $6.00 points redemption available. Not only that there were three $3.00 off bakery, produce, meat and fish if you spent ten dollars. So I was interested in seeing how this all worked when we went to the grocery store today. Along with a buy one get one free coffee deal we ended up with twenty-nine dollars in savings - something we haven’t seen in a very long time. Since we didn’t use the meat and fish coupon it will be available until July 7. Now I need to diligently check the coupons every week and be sure to clip the items we know we will use but also look out for items we might need in the future. Now I know why my mom was always talking about the buy one get one free. In this current environment it’s foolish not to take advantage of any discount. 

Total Wine Coupons

We drink about a half glass of red wine every evening. When we go to a restaurant for dinner, my husband orders one glass of red wine and I order ginger ale. We split the drinks between the two of us. Lately we have been buying our new supply at the grocery store. There is always a promotion going on - typically buy six bottles of any variety and you get “x” per cent off. Before buying at the grocery store, we started going to the Total Wine store in McLean. It was okay, but I preferred getting everything at one time rather than having to stop at another place that looked to me like another grocery store - which isn’t a place I enjoy going to anyway! So now we receive coupons over email from Total Wine with deals going on all the time. My husband was interested in seeing how the stock changed and determine if there was a brand he would like to try, so we took a trip to Total Wine with two email coupons in hand. There are some restrictions, but we found what we needed. We hadn’t been there since before Christmas when we were looking for wine bottle Christmas decor for our friends. In the end we saved about $20 plus on twelve bottles of any Direct Wine only Malbec and Cabernet stock. Was it worth the trip? My husband thinks it’s a better deal because it’s just wine stock. I’m not so sure. To me, it all tastes the same. 

Amazon Prime, Coupons, Video, Shipping

I’ve been an Amazon customer since 2000. One of the first things I bought on the site was a digital camera that used floppy disks. But only until recently did we decide to get Amazon Prime. We certainly use it often enough to benefit from free shipping. But it wasn’t until Apple TV allowed Amazon to have an app on it that it made even more sense. My husband said the subscription was worth it just to watch Billy Bob Thornton on Goliath. And having a soon to open Whole Foods store two blocks from where we live made it even a better idea. But it wasn’t until we were grocery shopping this weekend that it really made sense - especially for bulk items. We used to go to Costco, but it was overwhelming and you were somewhat tied to particular brands. So I went on line and stumbled upon coupons, and dash buttons, and pretty good discounts on frequently used items. I don’t think we will ever buy them in the grocery store again. And we won’t have to lug it all from the car to the house that only has street parking. And, even though you get free shipping, you can opt for regular shipping and earn $5 coupons back  - which essentially was how things had always been shipped anyway. For some items, who cares when they arrive? And if you have a favorite charity, you can shop on Amazon Smile. The trick is to use the app to shop and then check out on Amazon Smile on your browser. I’m sure the National Borzoi Rescue Foundation appreciates it. I probably won’t use most of the freebies Amazon Prime has to offer, although the clothes option sounded intriguing. Who knows what the next feature will be? All I know is it makes things a lot easier for so many people in ways we have yet to imagine.
