National Gallery of Art

I'm not much for art galleries or museums - especially when the weather is as magnificent as it has been this week. But the national gallery of art east building has undergone major renovation over what seems to have been years! So having out of town guests is an excuse to visit, and we were pleasantly surprised. I especially liked the new "rooftop" terrace that overlooks Pennsylvania Avenue with a huge blue rooster sculpture to boot. And there actually were a few pieces that I admired. The building itself was quite spectacular with clean lines and bright skylights. We didn't get to see everything so there may be a need to return again. But we will need to make sure it is on a cloudy, colder day.
