Observations, pictures, and sketches highlight the transition of moving to the nations's Capitol after 30 years of living in the Midwest. A clash in cultures? Maybe not!

Zazzle English Springer Spaniel T-shirts
It’s been an interesting last few months. Every once in a while I get a notice from Zazzle, Etsy, Redbubble and Pixels - that one of my digital art images was sold. The other day someone from Australia bought a child T-shirt of my English springer spaniel on Redbubble. Yesterday I got a notice from Zazzle that I sold TWO T-shirts of my same springer spaniel to someone in Calgary, Canada. This particular custom pet order was one of the first ones that was commissioned about six years ago for someone in Australia. If you told me even ten years ago that I would be once again painting and drawing - never mind selling products to people all over the world - I would not have believed it. But thanks to the iPad my interest in art was reinvigorated. And since I retired almost three years ago it’s a wonderful hobby. So thank you so much for noticing my artwork out of the millions of images out there. I really appreciate it!

Redbubble English Springer Spaniel Sticker
It’s the season for presents and one of the gift ideas is a custom pet portrait. It’s not the easiest time of year to set aside time to paint and the orders are already coming in. I’ve been creating digital portraits for six years. That’s why I really appreciate when my art gets noticed on my Redbubble, Fine Art America/Pixels, Zazzle, and Amazon Merch websites. The items are already available for purchase, and I get a notice whenever that happens. But all these items are created based on my custom pet portraits. Someone in Arizona recently purchased a sticker of my English Springer Spaniel. He was one of the first commissions I received - all the way from Australia. To be noticed - out of the millions of images on line - still amazes me. To be noticed and liking the painting enough to purchase it is doubly heartwarming. So thank you for the commissions and thank you for noticing all the sweet animals I’ve had the opportunity to paint. The feedaback I receive is priceless.

Apartment Therapy Classifieds
My friend told me about Apartment Therapy last year. She wanted to sell some furniture and did just that by advertising here. So I checked in to it and decided to advertise too... And since then have reached a milestone. Just this week I've had 500 views of my English Springer Spaniel digital art. Since what I do for a living is measuring performance, it's something to take note of, and is one of the many ways to market a product. The site is also linked to this blog. If I had to compare this year to last, the digital art work has had more traffic and notice, and I find it all a very interesting adventure. There are just so many options out there now it can sometimes be overwhelming to keep up with all of them. But it's just as interesting to find out about them, and then actually get contacted because someone saw it. That English Springer is from Australia, and thanks to him, has generated a lot of attention.
