Eufy RoboVac Beeping

It’s one of the best home products we have. The Eufy RoboVac does the job for our 1000 square foot condo. The best part is that is can travel under furniture and do a decent vacuuming. We got it when we lived on Capitol Hill so it’s over four years now. And of course nothing lasts forever. The other day it started beeping out of nowhere - four beeps with a red light blinking - as it was being charged. It got so annoying that I had to remove it from the charging station. I checked the manual to troubleshoot and nothing made sense. The rotating brush worked just fine. And the machine actually worked after it was charged but I couldn’t keep it on the charging station because the beeping would start all over again. And it would eventually lose the charge off the station. The big issue was the beeping. So I got on the website and had a chat. She recommended that I disconnect the battery, wait five minutes, and reconnect the battery. Of course that didn’t work. She then said that a new battery might be the only solution. I don’t know how long rechargeable batteries are supposed to last but that may be my only recourse. I’ll need to see if the machine will still operator correctly next time and decide from that point. We have taken such good care of this unit. It would be a shame to get a new one without trying the battery replacement first. I guess we will find out sooner than later - for $30. 

Eufy RoboVac Filter Change

We got a Eufy RoboVac about a year ago when we were still living in our tiny Capitol Hill condo. It worked rather well so we brought it along with us when we moved to our 1000 square foot condo in northern Virginia six months ago. My cleaning routine started immediately. On Saturday after grocery shopping I do the vacuuming. On Sunday after a walk and lunch I do the dusting and clean the bathroom until it shines. I can’t really leave the eufy on it’s own. I generally cordon off sections to make it easier for it and then empty the container full of dust and debris about half way through. Where does it all come from?!  After the RoboVac does it’s job, my husband cleans up the brush and the filters. He also shakes out the swiffers after all the dusting is done. Since my husband does all the cooking and empties the trash the least I can do is the cleaning. I always keep a supply of extras on hand in case a new filter is needed, or the brushes need to be changed. And that was the case last week. The main filter was really quite dirty, and I noticed a better outcome this week since it was changed. What I like about eufy is that it can go under the bed, dressers, and TV bookcase/stand. Unfortunately my swiffer alternate that I use for the baseboards, doors, and the crown mounding broke today so I’ll need to get a replacement. We also have an iRobot braava jet to wet mop the bathroom floor and marble foyer, and dry mop the wood floor. It’s also nice because it goes under things. I generally use that once a month. So before the week ends we’ll need to get the baseboard duster replaced. Somebody’s got to get the cleaning done. And as long as I am able to do it, it will be me. It’s good exercise. 

Eufy RoboVac 30C

I love gadgets. I have since I was small. So it makes sense that I love my iPad and iPhone and use my iPad to paint. One thing I really dislike is housework of any kind. So I decided to look around for any robotic helpers that would assist in getting some of the chores done. For vacuuming, we ended up settling on the Eufy RoboVac 30C based on the feedback of customers and an internet search. It was mid priced and had a Wi-Fi connection and app. So we tested it out last week for the first time. It scooted around the room and hardly made any noise. I could see from this test run that some of the furniture could be moved for the next time so the Eufy doesn’t have to deal with spending too much time fussing around. It’s amazing how it gets under the bed and the TV stand, around the exercise bike and other “low hanging” furniture. Our biggest problem is finding a spot for the “garage” where it gets recharged and returns if the battery runs low while it’s working. I had a hard time connecting it to the Google Assistant but finally figured it out. It does also have a remote control. In the end, it was amazing to see how much dirt it picked up. I did order some back up pieces to have on hand - filters and brushes. For our small spaces this is a great home companion. Between the Eufy and the iRobot floor cleaner, things are looking good!
