Redbubble LITDigitalArt Sticker Sales

I’ve been painting custom pet portraits for about ten years. After the portraits are completed, they are posted to several of my websites. The beauty of digital art is that I use my iPad as the canvas and my studio travels with me. The end product is a jpeg image that can be uploaded and processed on so many different products aside from the usual canvas or framed prints. It’s always such a treat to get a notice when one of my images has been discovered out of the millions out there. And that was the case yesterday when Redbubble notified me of a sale of a sticker. The image is of a golden retriever with a best friend. This order came from Texas. The funny thing is that the same sticker was ordered from someone in Washington state a couple of week’s ago. The pay back on these products is peanuts but I still get a great deal of satisfaction when someone notices, but also purchases something that I painted. I always wonder who it is and what it’s for. Thanks for noticing! 

Zazzle Promotion on Pinterest

It’s nice to get noticed. I’ve been painting custom pet portraits for about eight years - shortly after the first iPad came out in 2010. That new invention reignited my love for painting, but this time it was self taught digital art rather than watercolor, pastels, charcoal and ink. I used the sketch book pro app at first, but switched to Procreate when I got my iPad pro. One of the first commissions I had was of four golden retrievers. Each was distinctly different from the others. Whenever I complete a portrait I upload the image to several websites - Amazon Merch, Fine Art America/Pixels, Zazzle, my Etsy shop, and Redbubble. But I also share the items on Pinterest, Twitter, my website, Instagram, and Facebook business page. It’s a full time job! When I was looking at Pinterest the other day I noticed that my golden retriever face mask was being promoted on Pinterest. I know that because it says “promoted by Zazzle.” Perhaps it’s because that face mask was sold on Zazzle, as well as another one with cherry blossoms and the Supreme Court. I saw that those too were also promoted. So thank you for noticing not only my digitalart, but also some of the photographs that have also been uploaded to some of the websites. The sky is the limit for sharing, but getting noticed is quite another thing. 

Redbubble Golden Retriever Pillow - Sold

Right now I am working on a custom dog portrait. It’s a “freebie” based on a charity auction I participated in. But the process is no different. It’s a lot of back and forth between me and the customer to get it just right. I enjoy it all and it’s even better to know the final portrait will be displayed somewhere in their heart - and probably somewhere in the house. I also have a digitalart shop on Redbubble called LIT Digitalart. Many of the custom pet portrait images I’ve painted over the last six years or so are uploaded to the website that I turn in to products. Those products range from coffee mugs to T-shirts to greeting cards. I’ve done quite a few different breeds, pooches, cats, and birds. So it’s always a treat to get an email from Redbubble telling me I sold something. What interests me even more is where the customer is located, which design was selected, and on what product? This time the customer was from the UK; the golden retriever was the image; and the product was a pillow. What I get out of all this monetarily is just a few pennies. But the joy I feel when I know someone picked out and purchased a product I created is priceless. There are literally millions of options out there. So today I am hoping to finish up the latest pet portrait. After all, they are the inspiration for all my other products.
