Eufy Battery Arrived

We have had it for more than three years. Our Eufy iRobot vacuum cleaner has been a wonderful device. It scoots around and under the furniture and picks up dirt and dust that we wouldn’t be able to reach with our traditional machine. So when it started beeping out of no where we didn’t know why. The unit still charged up and worked, but the beeping sound and orange blinking light was weird. So I had a chat with the rep online and she said to take out the battery and put it back. If that didn’t help then the battery would probably need to be replaced. I didn’t really think about the battery as an issue because it’s not readily accessible - and that wasn’t mentioned in the instructions. Of course the first step of removing and replacing the battery didn’t work. So we decided to replace the battery. I also read several battery reviews and they all confirmed the same experience we were having. When the battery arrived we inserted it and recharged the unit. Not only did it stop beeping, the charging color turned to blue again and the run time lasted a lot longer than usual. It would have been a shame to dispose of the unit because it really does the trick in our 1000 square foot unit. These devices really are worth it. 

iRobot Braava Jet Floor Sweeper and Cleaner

It’s sad to say that I really like to watch the floor cleaner do its job. We got the iRobot Braava Jet Floor Mop before we moved to northern Virginia from Capitol Hill over two years ago. I was amazed then how well it did the job and continue to be amazed now. The little self directed machine has three options: sweep/clean, medium mop, and wet mop. Usually we will send the vacuum out first and then the floor mop follows, but the floor mop is used about once a month - or more - depending on weather and foot traffic. Our house is only about 1000 square feet so it’s not a huge job. But the battery doesn’t last as long as I’d like. So we always make sure the heavily trafficked areas are always done. What I like most about this gadget is that it really works. And it goes places that would be difficult to do by hand - especially under the bed and dressers. While it is working you can do other things, but I like to check up on it to make sure it’s not stuck somewhere. And I do get a kick watching it move about and plan its direction. Who likes to mop floors? I know I don’t. So this Braava jet mop is well worth it. 

iRobot Braava jet 240 Mopping Robot

I don’t know anyone who likes cleaning floors, but I know someone who likes gadgets - me. Putting those two things together = iRobot Braava jet 240 Mopping Robot. I searched the internet for the best floor cleaner and read the reviews on Amazon. The unit arrived with a rechargeable battery pack, and six cleaning pads - two each for dry, damp, and wet mop. There is also an app that manages the critter. After reading the instructions, I decided to try a wet mop out on two bathrooms, the kitchen, and under the bed. So I moved away the rugs and paraphernalia, attached the wet pad, filled the tank with warm water, placed the jet on the floor, pushed the clean button and watched it go to work. It is amazing how the mop finds its way around the tightest of spaces and around chair legs. It actually did a decent job. You just release the dirty pad directly in to the garbage and empty the water tank when you’re done and recharge the battery. Next time I’ll try the damp mop on the wood floors. You can set up a “virtual barrier wall” to keep the unit contained in a specific area, or to break up a larger space in to smaller parts. You do need to have the mop head pads on hand. But for our money we think it’s worth it.
