Everfoams Slippers Ruined in the Dryer

I was looking for shoes to wear around the house because I have a habit of running in to furniture and spraining or breaking toes. So I always wear closed toe shoes everywhere - both inside and outside. My favorite indoor slip ons finally wore out after many years and I have had a hard time replacing them. So rather than look for shoes, I looked for slippers and came across Everfoams. They fit the bill in every way. They arrived around six months ago and I have worn them ever since - until I decided to wash them. They did fine in the washing machine, but something happened to the left foot in the dryer. A “bump” appeared under the arch making it impossible to wear. So I ordered another pair on Amazon. They were only $11.99 using the dollar off coupon. They arrived last week. Upon opening the package there is a lifetime exclusive coupon code for 5% off. There is also a note about replacing or refunding the slippers regardless of how long they’ve been worn. So I sent an email to the company saying how much I loved the slippers, but had an issue after they were washed. I haven’t heard back yet and probably won’t. But it was worth the effort to let them know. Anyway, the new slippers are great. Next time I’ll leave them out to dry. 

LLBean Airlight Slipper Scuffs

It’s been a long time since I got shoes. The only shoes I wear these days are walking shoes - that need to be replaced due to over wear and rips in the seams - and house shoes. My old house shoes were clogs from ancient times. But the thread finally wore out and I found some replacement slippers under twenty dollars. They were perfect. They are totally flat, have no lip on the heel, and can even be washed. But they are slippers - you can’t really walk outside or around the building in them. I’ve learned the hard way that wearing shoes that cover your toes in the house is a no brainer after spraining or breaking toes on furniture. So when I saw the LLBean scuff slippers, they looked exactly what I was looking for. They were more shoe than slipper, and had a solid rubber sole that could withstand being outside. So I ordered a pair. They arrived yesterday in the turquoise color. That in itself was unusual because I never want to draw attention to my size eleven feet. Anyway, they looked okay. But they are too wide for my feet and are cut too high over the top of the foot. I feel like I keep falling out of them which isn’t good for preventing mishaps. They are also not “broken in” and don’t bend upon walking making them a bit too stiff. So I tried bending them in for some “give.” I don’t think it’s going to work. I’m not one for returning things, but I should. Too bad we already threw the box out. Now I’m stuck with these too wide shoes. If I wore socks they would be fine. But I rarely wear socks. I should know better than to order shoes on line. But I didn’t think slippers would be an issue. 

Everfoam Mule Slippers

I was always banging my feet in to furniture when we lived in our tiny Capitol Hill condo and ended up with several sprains and broken toes. So I don’t ever walk around the house barefoot anymore. When my old faithful clogs finally gave way last year I had a hard time replacing them. Nothing felt comfortable. I finally got a pair of Tom’s sliders, with an open back and covered toes. But they weren’t “flat” and the small heel wasn’t what I was after. So I’ve been searching for mule house shoes or slippers without the tiny lip on the heel. I didn’t want fur or anything like that and came across EverFoams Corduroy Memory Foam Slippers. They reminded me of slippers I would get every Christmas. They arrived last week and I am very happy with how they feel. Since I only use them inside the house they should work our very well. They are completely “flat” and are easy to slip on and off. They are also machine washable and have a cushiony comfortable feel. I don’t know how long they will last, but for the price they could easily be replaced if and when needed. Since we moved to a slightly larger condo in northern Virginia we have a bit more space to walk in, so the odds of hitting the furniture are less. It’s been a long time since I’ve owned a pair of slippers. I’m not sure why it’s taken so long. 

Rockport Slipper Gorilla Glue Repair

I’m not sure how long my husband has had these winter Rockport slippers. He usually wears leather sandals around the house. So when he dug out the slippers for the season, there was a problem at the seam. It was falling apart. Rather than get another pair, he prefers to fix the defect first if at all possible. So I found the small tube of gorilla glue. I always read the directions for use before anything, even though I’ve used this product a million times. It says one drop per square inch is enough. You know when you overdue it because the transparent glue really expands and turns white. For some things it doesn’t matter, but for something like this one needs to be judicious. So I put a little more than two drops inside the seam, stuffed the slipper with a sock, and tied it up for safekeeping to dry and set over the next several hours. I have a feeling it may work for a while, but we’ll probably need to replace this pair - along with the ripped up summer slippers - before too long. It’s always good to give it a try, but sometimes the inevitable rules.
