TeePublic Sales

I have several websites that feature my custom pet portraits and some photography. Those include Amazon Merch, Pixels/Fine Art America, Zazzle, and Redbubble. Apparently Redbubble is aligned with TeePublic but has a different audience worldwide. And because I have a Redbubble site, it was relatively easy to set up the same shop on TeePublic about four months ago. It’s been a real kick to get emails from TeePublic saying I have made a sale. I received one yesterday for a tshirt with an American Eskimo on it. I can’t track where it was purchased - just the size, type of shirt and color. I’ve also had some luck with posting merchandise with the famous cherry tree Stumpy. There was a sale earlier in the month for a women’s v neck tshirt in pink. Of course when the website has sales the commission is even less than on a regular sale. But it hardly matters because I am just so thrilled that someone selects an image I created from all of the thousands of others out there. So I’m thinking I might start to do more with my photos because some of the 52Frames weekly photo challenges have been winners. You never know what someone might like. So it’s good to keep trying different things. It also keeps me busy and learning new ways to create different types of images. So thanks for looking - I really appreciate it! 

Stumpy Tshirt Sale on TeePublic

We were so sad to hear that Stumpy - the little cherry tree that could - was going to be removed from the Tidal Basin because of a restoration project. He, and a lot of other trees will be taken out in May because the flooding water is destroying the area and the trees weren’t going to survive anyway. I have been a Stumpy fan long before he became famous. So I put together a collage of Stumpy in each season, then added his name and a slogan to the composite image. The image was uploaded to three of my digital art websites - TeePublic, Redbubble, and Pixels/Fine Art America. Then the links were sent to X/Twitter. The same day the images were uploaded I got a notification from TeePublic that someone bought  a Stumpy tshirt - for a male and in blue. That has never happened before! It was so cool to get that attention so quickly. In spite of the dreadful cold and rainy weather the cherry blossom festival kicked off last Saturday and continues on through April. Certainly there are a lot of local vendors capitalizing on Stumpy’s fate. We are hoping to visit the Tidal Basin again after the festival ends and before the renovation begins. I need to get one last look at the famous little tree. We will miss you Stumpy! 

Stumpy TShirts on Redbubble, TeePublic and FAA/Pixels

It’s such a thrill to receive a notice that one of my digitalart painting items was sold on one of my websites. This morning I got an email from TeePublic saying that a greyhound Tshirt was sold. I usually do not post photos on my websites, but because Stumpy - the famous cherry tree at the Tidal Basin - will be removed due to restoration work, everyone is taking about poor little Stumpy. So I searched for my photos of Stumpy over the years and found several - before he was famous. I posted them all on instagram, then created three composites of Stumpy. Two were of Stumpy in all four seasons and another was Stumpy over time. He looks glorious in spring, summer, fall and winter with the Washington Monument in the background. We have walked by Stumpy so many times. He’s like the little tree that could. As with everyone else we were so disappointed to hear that he will be removed. And since both my husband and I tested positive for Covid ten days ago we have avoided going outside and missing what has always been a most delightful time of the year to take photos. We are finally starting to feel a little more normal but still not ourselves at all. We hope we will be able to visit Stumpy one last time after the cherry blossom festival. We will miss Stumpy. I’m so glad we got to know him. 

Bubbles Macro photography on Redbubble, Pixels, and TeePublic

Since I started making custom digital art pet portraits over ten years ago using my iPad, many of the designs and portraits were also used to populate my storefront websites. Those websites include Redbubble, Pixels, and TeePublic. For the last three years or so I started to participate in the weekly 52Frames photo challenge. I have learned a lot since I am not really a photographer. I just love to take pictures. And each week the challenge is different. This week is complementary colors. Usually I just try to find objects or scenes that meet the requirement. But this time I thought I would try something different. I learned about taking macro photos of oil and water. But I would paint the complementary colors first on my iPad and use those designs as the backdrop to create the bubble images. And also photos that were taken that have those colors could also be used as backdrops. The end result was really interesting - to me. There are so many lovely abstract images that emerged - too many to even figure out which one I want to use this week for the challenge. And because I like them so much I am also starting to upload them on to the websites. You can create so many different products using these colors - red/green, purple/yellow, and orange/blue. It can be very time consuming but fun at the same time. I don’t expect a whole lot of response, but it makes me feel good to know that I learned something new and the outcome is pretty. 

LITDigitalart TeePublic First Sale

A couple of weeks ago I got an invitation from Redbubble to open a TeePublic Website to sell my digital art. All of my digital art custom pet portraits are already uploaded to Redbubble where people from around the world have bought items with the likenesses of my art. But it does take a lot of time to open a shop and fill it with paintings. So Redbubble made it easy since TeePublic is owned by them. All I had to do was click on a link and all of the files would automatically be uploaded. I’d just then have to do a bit of clean up. But it definitely saved tons of time. I haven’t spent nearly the effort yet getting everything in order. So it was thrilling to get an email this week announcing that I made my first sale. It was a button with a greyhound on it. Unfortunately I can’t determine who or where the purchase originated from. Several of the other websites show that finer detail. All I know is that it is heartwarming when someone out there likes my image enough to purchase even the smallest trinket, or shirt, or wall hanging. The sky is virtually the limit. I always enjoy painting these furry critters because it reminds my of our two dogs that we had when we lived in the Midwest. It’s a wonderful way to remember them.
