Roses With Signs at the US Botanical Gardens

The US Botanical Garden is one of our favorite places. We pass through it all the time when we go for our morning promenade. Last week we brought our out of town guests there - but only had a chance to check out the inside. But it’s the surrounding gardens that are the best. And since our last visit the rose garden has changed dramatically. It looked as though every single bush and vine bud had bloomed. The other day we saw what had to be the head rose lady instructing the gardeners where and how to cut back some of the stems. And today she was going around and putting signs on the bushes - not your typical signs either. Of note - “ferociously thorny,” “carefree beauty,” “history buff,” “can do it all,” “a real pearl,” “charming,” and “tad unusual.” The reds, pinks, yellows, peaches, purples, and reds were magnificent in the cloudy, just rained upon surroundings. It’s the best time to take photos - so I did.
