Redbubble German Shepherd Sweatshirt

I am always so thrilled whenever someone notices my digitalart. I’ve been painting custom pet portraits since 2012 using my iPad as the canvas and a stylus as my brush. When the commissioned portraits are complete, I upload the files to four different websites that can turn the images in to a product of choice - coffee mugs, T-shirts - just about anything. I use Fine Art America/Pixels, Redbubble, Zazzle, and Amazon Merch. I was pleased to get a notice that someone from Australia purchased a German Shepherd hoodie. I’ve done a few commissions from Australia - one of the first portraits I painted was an English Springer Spaniel in Australia for a Christmas gift. It’s fun to see where the purchases come from and quite remarkable to know how far reaching all my images are seen. It does take quite a bit of time to keep all the websites updated, but after the initial set up it’s basically tweaking and checking things over regularly. But then there is all the social media promoting that’s even more time consuming. But it is fun as a hobby and I can choose to do as much or as little as I like. So thank you for noticing my work - I really appreciate it!

I like dogs. We had Natasha - a Golden Retriever - and Tatiana - a Borzoi when we lived in the Midwest. I also like to draw. When the iPad came along, I started to “paint” again and started my Etsy shop. I’ve been doing custom pet portraits ever since. It’s one thing to do custom portraits, but another to sell images of the paintings I have created. So I also have a Pixels/Fine Art America, Redbubble, Zazzle, and Amazon Merch Shops. It’s almost a full time job keeping them all updated and promoted. What’s really exciting and rewarding about the shops is when I get a notice that someone liked an image enough to purchase it - from coffee mugs to ties to cards. And the orders come from all over the world! The idea that my art was noticed out of the millions of images on the internet is indeed heartwarming. Amazon Merch doesn’t send notices with sales so I need to check my site every day to get an update on the status. My shop is called LITs Pooches, Kitties and other Sweet Faces. Yesterday a black lab sweatshirt hoodie was sold. There is something about those black labs! And as the cooler season is upon us, the T-shirts give way to hoodies. So, thank you for noticing my work. I really appreciate it! 

Amazon Merch Sales

It took me a while to figure out how I can sell my pet portrait designs on Amazon. They don’t have a platform for customers to order custom pet portraits, but they have Amazon Merch. I requested “permission” to join, and was accepted in April. After that it took me even more time to figure out how to meet the image requirements. I do every thing on my iPad, so I needed to make transparent all of the backgrounds, and then convert my files from jpeg to png. Having done that then it was time to wait and see if I would have any luck getting my digitalart exposed to the Amazon audience. It’s always a treat to know someone likes what you paint, and even better if they purchase your design. This week was a pleasant surprise when my Australian Shepherd dog long sleeve T-shirt sold. Then within the same week one of my black lab designs sold on a T-shirt, and another black lab design sold on a hoodie. That got me thinking about cooler weather and submitting more designs on longer sleeve shirts. So now I’m searching my files for black labs in particular, but I’m also thinking about some Betta fish paintings. Who knows? Amazon recently sent out a notice that they will be extending their Merch presence to Germany and the United Kingdom. Having a broader audience is always good. Every one likes animals and pets.
