Leaves of Grass - Still Green in the Neighborhood

This is our first autumn season living in northern Virginia. We are just ten miles away from where we used to live on Capitol Hill. We moved to our new condo six months ago and it has been a good transition. We miss the neighborhood, but don’t miss the old 1870’s house. Rather than walk the concrete jungle, we now have a small park that reminds us of grant park in Milwaukee. Usually this time of year there is a significant change in color on the trees. But everything is still quite green with shades of brown and gold. There is hardly any red except for some tiny leaves here and there. So along the path we always take it was hardly filled. I looked for as many different shapes and sizes of leaves as I could. And since the sun was not quite out, things weren’t looking as crisp as is typically expected. We are thinking of taking a ride to the safari park this week with the idea of taking in some prettier views near the blue ridge mountains. This is one of my favorite seasons - and I don’t want to miss it!
