More Orchids at the US Botanic Garden

About a month ago we took a ride in to DC to visit the US Botanic Garden to see the orchid display. We have lived in northern Virginia for a year now, so we can still drive in when the mood strikes. Unfortunately we no longer have our visitor parking pass, so we need to be very mindful of the time when we park in a two hour spot in our old Capitol Hill neighborhood. I’ve had a couple of entries about this subject - the walk over from our parking spot through the Bartholdi fountain gardens, the First Lady Garden, the lobby of the Botanic garden, and some close up photos of the orchids that are on display in the lobby. Today’s set of photos is from the lobby area towards the actual all year round orchid section. It includes a wall of orchids hanging unexpectedly from the ceiling and some other plants that caught my eye. Luckily I took a lot of photos that day. Since we haven’t left the house in over three weeks it’s difficult to be creative sometimes in the every day four walls. So looking back is a good thing. I’m hoping we can start looking forward again soon.
