BlogTouch Pro Not Working

I’ve been blogging for several years with daily entries about living on Capitol Hill and other assorted topics. Unfortunately, the BlogTouch Pro App has been out of commission for the last several days. When I upload photos to the entries large white boxes appear instead of photographs. And because my photos are such a big part of the blog, it’s rather pointless. So I have communicated with the app developer to check on the status. It appears that Apple is taking longer to do the quality assurance on the revised app that will supposedly fix the problem. I keep checking back every day, and still no update. Usually whenever I’ve had an issue with the app the developer is quite responsive. I hope it gets fixed soon as this is the longest time period I’ve ever gone without posting. For anyone who follows my blog I apologize for any inconvenience! Unfortunately I can’t share a photo. 

BlogTouch Pro Help

I have been blogging every day for almost ten years? It started as a laptop version, then migrated to my iPad and iPhone. It used to be a website, but now it's an app called BlogTouch Pro. I use it primarily as a photo blog. By now there must be thousands of pictures stored somewhere out there. Last week I was not able to publish an entry about LLBean rain shoes. I tried it a couple of times, then deleted the attached photos just to see if it would publish. And it did. But then I contacted the app support desk and requested some help understanding what may have happened. I got an immediate response from Alexandru. He was extremely patient and responsive and we kept at it until the issue was resolved - though it took a lot of back and forth and a lot of screen shots. It doesn't take much for an extra space or a capital letter to throw it off. Apparently my pictures from Blogger are stored in Picasso in the current Dropbox album which was now full. So I had to add another album and call it "BlogTouch for Blogger." I had blog touch as two words, then the "for" was capitalized... I attempted to update the LLBean entry and kept getting nowhere until the last screenshot revealed the problem. All I know is it is back to working again and I really appreciate the help. It wasn't the first time I needed it and probably won't be the last. I'm just glad I could finally figure it out. Thanks Alexandru! 

Blog Touch Pro

I started a blog over six years ago. At that time, everything was done using a laptop. But things have changed. Now I use my iPad and iPhone for everything and rarely use a laptop unless it is absolutely necessary. So in order to continue updating my daily photo blog - even when we are out of town -  I have been using the blogger app to manage it. It's just so much more convenient and easy to use. But every time iOS updates come around, many of the apps don't get updated to sync with the new requirements. And that's exactly what happened to my blogger app. I've been using safari to write the blog, then adding the photos from my iPhone. I thought there had to be something better out there. So I started looking around for an app replacement and came across Blog Touch Pro. The reviews were mixed, but I thought I would give it a try out of desperation. I didn't want to give up on the last many years work and blog entries. Plus, it's sort of a hobby now and gives me an opportunity to stay sharp! So it's been a couple of weeks and I have to say I am very happy with the new app. But I have not updated my phone or iPad to iOS 11. Let's hope it stays in sync for awhile. I can't imagine going back to a laptop. If that's the case, then the blog may end - and I wouldn't be very happy about that. 

LIT Living on Capitol Hill/Hell Blog

Since 2011, I have been writing a daily blog - and I mean every day. It didn't matter where we were - here at home, visiting our friends and family members around the country, or even on overseas trips. I always manage to get in a few words along with associated photos. The theme is primarily comparing life on Capitol Hill to the Midwest, or highlighting activities in Washington DC. So the other day I took note of the map that shows how far my blog has reached. I've had over 150,000 page views - not exactly a huge number - but it shows where on the map someone found something interesting enough to open a link. I've hit most of the continents except Antarctica? The largest clusters are in the US and Eastern Europe. It's fun to view the countries that show an interest on a daily basis - even some of the tiniest islands are named. One of these days it will be interesting to read this diary of sorts. It certainly tells a story of our lives and the world around us. When I started the blog, that was about all the social media I spent time on. It was on a laptop and I had to upload photos from a camera. Now with my digital art work, I'm using more social media than I can count. And a lot of them are apps that I use on my phone and iPad. The blog is not like the other stuff - and has a very different flavor. I just wish blogger would update the app as it is getting very difficult to use. I hope it doesn't completely become unusable. That would be a real shame.

iPad Five Year Anniversary - What A Difference It Has Made - For Me!

I can't believe it's been five years since the iPad changed my life! Since that April day in 2010, so much has happened because of it. I waited by the door for it to be delivered and things have never been the same. I had a feeling about it like no other gadget before it. Now I have three iPads - the first one is now my husband's - and the other two are used exclusively for all my art - and maybe a few games! I downloaded Sketch book Pro and my love for art was reignited. It started with doodles and sketches, and became three children's books - as apps in the Apple Store published by StoryChimes, a New Yorker Eustace Tilley win, self published children's books on Amazon, and commissioned pet portraits from all over the US, Canada, Australia, and Puerto Rico. I even have a "gallery wall" at the Wagtime Shop on Capitol Hill. Along with all the art is the social media that ties it all together - this blog about living in the Capitol City, Facebook business page, tumblr, Pinterest boards, krrb ads, my etsy shop, twitter, a Wordpress personal website, and the most recent Rebelmouse that pulls a lot of it in to one place. The iPad makes it so much easier to coordinate all of these things. It has become my mobile studio - which is a lot cleaner and neater than watercolor and pastels - that I take with me whenever we are out of town. Yes, some of this could have been done without the iPad, but not to the same degree. Thanks Steve Jobs for having the vision. Happy Anniversary IPad!

Thanks DC Blogs - A World View

Every once in a while my blog post gets noted by DC Blogs. I can always tell because the statistics for the day increase significantly. I really appreciate that someone notices! It got me thinking that I started LIT's Living on Capitol Hill(Hell)!? almost three years ago and I haven't missed a day. And LIT has become my signature logo for my Etsy, Facebook, Zazzle, Fine Art America, and personal websites. It takes a lot of time, observations and perseverance. What I find really interesting is the sheer breadth this thing takes. The map tells the story. Every one of those dots represents someone who took the time to notice and/or read an entry. Now it's past 36,000 views and counting. As long as I enjoy doing it I'll keep at it. I've always loved gadgets and writing and painting and taking pictures. And these modes of communication make it so much easier to do all of it.
