In Search of Nips Chocolate Parfait

My husband is a cookie and candy monster. He keeps candy in the car and in his pockets. His favorite bits are Werther’s, Nips, and Bali’s Best. I usually order Nips snd Bali’s on Amazon; Werther’s we get at the grocery store. The last time I ordered Nips I was not able to find the usual 12 boxes that I’ve purchased fourteen times before. So I selected another option and obviously didn’t read the small print. The total was $13.99, and only when the package was delivered that we realized that there were only three boxes - which meant that each box was over $4 apiece! Now we know inflation is starting to affect just about everything. But that was ridiculous! So I went back on Amazon and saw that the twelve boxes option was once again available for $28.95. I was going to order it but decided to check out Giant to see if they had Nips. At the grocery store today we went over to the candy aisle and there they were - Nips chocolate parfait! My husband did not believe they could be found in Giant. The candy was not only there, it was on sale for $1.99 from $2.39 for a forty cents savings. So I got six boxes. I would have taken twelve but my husband didn’t want to look too greedy. So what we learned was that Amazon still has the twelve box option at the same price it always was, but that Giant also has Nips and it was even on sale. I don’t think the sale made up for the exorbitant price we paid for those three boxes that were shipped all the way from California. That just goes to show you that it’s always worth shopping around - even for candy.

Nips Chocolate Parfait Candy Supply

My husband loves candy and cookies. To that end we always stock up on Milano cookies at the grocery store. The chocolate variations and raspberry filled are his favorites. But when it comes to candy he is very particular. He keeps them in his pockets, in the car, in the house, and takes them along on trips. The Nips Chocolate Parfait candies can be bought in bulk through Amazon. The last time I got them seems like almost a year ago. The other day he mentioned that the supply was running a little low so I figured it was time for a refill. The box arrived yesterday and I didn’t realize how many I had actually ordered! Apparently twelve packages come in a case, and I ordered three cases. That meant we had 36 boxes of Nips! But it seemed like a lot more than that when we stored them away in the cabinet above the refrigerator. So these should last for awhile. And one way to last even longer is to mix them up with his supply of creamy caramel filled Werther’s Original and Bali’s Best coffee mix. We can always find the Werther’s in the grocery store if he should ever run out.

Nips Chocolate Parfait From Washington and California

Who doesn't like getting packages!? Even if I send them to myself there is something about getting a package in the mail - or I thought so until today. There were several items I ordered on Amazon and they were all supposed to arrive today. It's a hodgepodge of stuff including two twelve box containers of my husband's favorite candy. I've been tracking them the last day or two and couldn't figure out why there were two candy shipments. When I got the "delivered" message I was happy to see two boxes - thinking everything had arrived. But I forgot that all the stuff I was more interested in getting wouldn't be coming with UPS. It would be coming with the regular mail - and that usually doesn't show up until late in the evening - if at all. So when I opened both boxes I was disappointed that they were both filled with Nips Chicolate Parfait! The odd thing was one package came from Sumner/Washington state, Portland/Oregon, Louisville, Philadelphia, Baltimore, etc. The other one started in Ontario/California, new Stanton/Pennsylvania, Laurel/Maryland, etc. Somehow both packages ended up arriving at the same time but taking very different routes. I'm sure there is a good reason why it went the way it did. All my husband cares is that his supply of candy has been replenished. I'm still waiting for my stuff.

The Nips Finally Arrived!

No one was happier to get a box from Amazon as my husband was this week. After almost a month of emails and delays and requests for our patience, the Nips candy finally arrived. My husband has a sweet tooth like no other. There are candies stored in the car, his pockets, and in the house. When we travel he always takes a stash with him. I know where he's been when I find a candy paper trail. So when the package arrived there was a big smile on his face. That bunch goes along with the Bali's Best jugs that came in a couple weeks ago. It's nice to know it doesn't take much to make him happy. That's why we always try to keep a never ending supply on hand. It does both of us good.

CVS, Breathe Rite, Nips and Total Wine

My husband has bad allergies. They started about ten years ago, coinciding with our move to DC. And everyone who lives here says if you didn't have allergies before you move here, you will certainly get them. Luckily, I can say I have not been affected like he has. But it doesn't matter where we are anywhere in the world, or the season, he still has them. We thought maybe the red wine might be causing it, but stopping that for a week didn't help a bit. So we went back to the one glass a day. I have tried to convince him to see an allergist, but doctors - like himself -  know better! I did finally convince him to try a breathe rite strip the other day. He said it actually may have helped - even just a little! Since that was the last one, we needed to get a few more to see if it really worked. So today after brunch at our usual McLean place, we trekked on over to CVS for a refill. While there, we couldn't pass up the bargain on NIPS Chocolate parfait candy. And since we were running low on our red wine supply, we went across the street to Total Wine to restock, along with our newly found favorite diet ginger ale. So, even if the breathe rite strips don't work, he can still enjoy a little red wine and Nips. Who could ask for anything more?
