A Visit to Florida National Cemetery

We usually go to visit Florida a few times a year. Every time we go we stop by Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell to pay respects to my dad. He was buried there over three years ago. We always bring flowers of the season, and at this time of the year, a Christmas wreath. So before we leave home we get a wreath and a bow. When we arrived at the cemetery this year, there were sections that had Christmas wreaths with red bows already placed - the same as is the practice at Arlington. The place was very festive with many visitors. When we went to my dad’s grave his was one of the sections that was “smartly dressed” for the holiday. I had asked a couple of years ago why only some areas had wreaths. It depended on available funding and donations so they rotate the areas. So my dad ended up having two wreaths this year. It’s the least we could do for him. Merry Christmas Dad.
