Bistro Vivant McLean

It was a brilliant blue sky and "warm" day in February. So we decided we should go to our usual Cafe Deluxe for lunch in Tyson's because of the great ride along the GW Parkway. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the parking lot was jammed and more than likely the place would be too. Our timing was off by ten minutes. You really need to get there before the twelve o'clock lunch crowd. So we headed back to McLean and a place I spotted when driving to our other usual McLean Family Restaurant destination. It's called Bistro Vivant and located in a strip mall. Not exactly the most inviting setting, but we thought we would be adventurous and give it a try. When we arrived, only a few tables were taken. Shortly after, it was quite full. My husband has been refreshing and taking French lessons using his IPad lately, and felt right at home. They have a big blackboard of daily specials. In the end, we both liked the bread, broccoli soup, and chicken and salmon sandwiches. We will add it to the list of places to take our out of town guests, and may go back again in between the visits.
