Hirshhorn Outdoor Art

A lot of the Smithsonian and other museums are still only open a few days a week. It’s hard to keep track of which day is what for all of them. One of the museums we haven’t been able to visit inside yet is the Hirshhorn - although we walk through the sculpture garden a lot. There has been some major renovation, restoration, or repair work going on for the past many months. The huge scaffolding structure surrounded the round structure along with all the Air and Space Museum updates going on next door. Then suddenly a few weeks ago a massive tarp or drape was placed on the building. It was the face of a lovely lady and the drape color was red. Since we go in to town every week for the 52Frames photo challenge, the single drape turned in to many. And the cool part was that all the faces were different and the drape colors changed as well. So the last time we were there we walked around the building to see all the different expressions. It was really lovely.  When the Supreme Court was restored a few years ago it was covered with a tarp that looked exactly like the building. This display is a beautiful work of art and can be seen from every angle. It must be lovely at night.
