Kizen Waterproof Food Thermometer

Since we got our air drier a few weeks ago we discovered a need for items we never really used before. One of them was a French fry cutter, so we could take advantage of the fat free French fries in the air fryer. We also needed to replace the porcelain salt and pepper shakers because we could no longer open the tiny plastic bottom piece that eventually deteriorated. We just ordered a small kitchen food scale that we never had - because some of the recipes are not easily converted even though google can tell us. My husband likes kitchen things and always wanted a scale anyway. This is just an excuse. And finally we have a very old non digital oven thermometer that we use maybe once a year for a turkey meant to stay in the oven while the turkey cooks. But with air frying you need to check the meat, poultry or fish quickly and a digital item would be much easier to use. So we got a Kizen waterproof food thermometer and tested it for the first time last evening when we made a chicken breast that was going to be shredded for quesadillas. They were absolutely right when they said the temperature would be read in 2 to 4 seconds. It also has a light up LCD display and the main heat settings chart for each category. It’s also waterproof and the needle collapses within itself to avoid any accidental stabbings. And it came with a replacement battery. It is amazing how cheap most of these items are, but most importantly how helpful they are. I was never much in to cooking but the air fryer has made it fun. At least for now.
